About the Position

We're seeking a skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to support our Payroll Financial Reporting team in accounting for payroll transactions across Jane Street's global entities.

Your strong analytical skills, combined with your attention to detail, will be essential in this role.


Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly payroll journal entries for all locations
Perform variance analysis on compensation expenses and balance sheet accounts, and provide commentary on variances
Research discrepancies and account reconciliations related to compensation and benefits
Establish and monitor accounting control procedures
Collaborate with Financial Reporting teams worldwide to ensure accurate compensation expenses on financial statements
Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reconciliations, issue escalation, and meeting deadlines
Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures

About You
5-8 years of relevant professional experience, with a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field
Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts and procedures, including account reconciliation
Skilled problem solver and analytical thinker
Proficient in Excel and technology
Organized with a keen attention to detail
Mature, trustworthy, and discreet, with an appreciation for confidentiality in this role
Experience with payroll-related disclosures required by foreign statutory audits is a plus
VBA skills are a plus
