The Travel Nurse Practitioner plays a vital role in delivering high-quality anesthesia care as part of a collaborative healthcare team. This position requires a commitment to patient safety and effective communication within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with shifts typically from 7 AM to 5:30 PM or 7 AM to 7:30 PM. A minimum commitment of two shifts per week is required, with a preference for full-time availability.
- Electronic Medical Records: Proficient use of EPIC for patient documentation.
- Team Structure: Operate under the supervision of a Care Team, collaborating closely with Anesthesia Technicians.
- Patient Care: Manage approximately 2-5 cases daily, with potential for up to 12 cases in gastrointestinal procedures. Common cases include vascular, cystoscopy, urology, and gastrointestinal procedures, with some trauma cases possible.
- Anesthesia Administration: Deliver general and regional anesthesia or Monitored Anesthesia Care during surgical and obstetric procedures, under the guidance of an attending Anesthesiologist.
- Patient Monitoring: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions, recommend appropriate anesthetic techniques, and ensure the safe operation of anesthesia equipment.
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required), Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required), Master's Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in critical care nursing as part of a CRNA program (Required), with a preference for 2 years in an academic medical center or as a CRNA.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid PA Registered Nurse License (Required), Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist (Required), Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Required).
All personnel at Temple University Hospital must comply with vaccination requirements or possess an approved medical or religious exemption for COVID-19.
