Prescription Service Coordinator

The Prescription Services Coordinator plays a vital role in providing administrative support for prescription services at Integrated Oncology Network, LLC. This position is responsible for maintaining the e-prescription system, tracking prescriptions, and interfacing with insurance companies regarding prescription claims.
Key Responsibilities:- Accurately track all prescriptions written by physicians and maintain a daily log of prescriptions dispensed in the CCA IOD and those electronically prescribed.
- Ensure a qualified e-prescribing system is adopted and every prescription is written in compliance with Medicare guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, explaining the CCA prescription system and confirming patient information on file.
- Effectively use Centricity and Pioneer to verify patient prescription coverage insurance and accurately bill according to coverage plan.
- Accurately input prescriptions for physician dispensing using Pioneer software and ensure accurate patient information is submitted for claim and confirmed proper claim has been captured.
- Work effectively with insurance companies to obtain prior authorization for physician dispensing medication claims that are rejected and follow up on submitted authorization requests as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; two-year degree preferred.
- Pharmacy technician certification.
- Zero to two years related work experience or training.
- Knowledge of computer/telephony support, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Strong customer service background, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Competence with computer processing functions and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to calmly and professionally resolve customer issues with diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills.
- This position functions primarily indoors in a medical/business environment.
- Employee may be subject to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, bio waste, and other medically-related factors, with exposure to moderate noise levels.
- Visual acuity to read and compute screen and paper documents; close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus; hearing acuity to converse with staff and customers; ability to walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and lift and move 25 pounds on a regular basis; ability to sit for hours at a time.
