We are seeking an experienced Network Systems Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL).
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading systems engineering activities for existing and future communications systems from concept development through engineering development and operations, as well as analyzing system-level behaviors and recommending improvements to support communications missions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a variety of systems engineering activities for existing and future communications systems from concept development through engineering development and operations and maintenance.
- Analyze system-level behaviors and system of systems interactions and recommend improvements to support communications missions.
- Detail work in technical reports and memoranda and present outcomes to sponsors and the technical community.
- Interact with technical specialists in other fields as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide mentorship to support early career staff growth and development.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in information technology/science, computer science, electrical/computer engineering, or another related technical field.
- Have at least ten years of relevant experience engineering DoD network and software systems of systems.
- Be proficient in detailing network, software, and system designs through interface control documents, system description documents, capability description documents, and other system artifacts.
- Be familiar with foundational computer networking technology such as routers, switches, and security appliances.
- Be willing and able to travel periodically, up to 10%.
- Be able to obtain an Interim Top Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI level clearance.

CompensationThe estimated salary range for this role is $90,000 - $330,000 per year, based on factors such as location, experience, and qualifications.
