Position Overview:

MATEC is in search of a Cost Estimation Specialist to collaborate closely with a Government client. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional communication, quantitative, research, and analytical capabilities, with the ability to lead or significantly contribute to complex studies. Responsibilities will include conducting cost and price analyses, creating pricing frameworks, and developing Excel-based models to assess various strategies and hypothetical scenarios.

Work Environment:

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring two days per week in a designated location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute intricate cost proposal processes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to both external client and internal standards.
  • Manage a portfolio of proposals while advising senior leadership on critical business metrics, potential risks, and strategic options.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with statistical regression analysis and probability theory.
  • Experience in discrete event simulation techniques, including Monte Carlo simulation.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process flows.
  • Understanding of supply chain management and logistics.
  • Experience with Department of Defense acquisition processes and support for major milestones.
  • Strong teamwork, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration skills with a focus on achieving common goals.
  • Possession of a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Certification as a Cost Estimator/Analyst from the International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA) is advantageous.

Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
