The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team. As a leader in systems engineering, you will be responsible for solving complex challenges and shaping cybersecurity best practices by leading risk management tasks. Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions.

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise through leadership and mentoring, while broadening your skillset into areas like defensive cybersecurity. You will grow your skills by merging knowledge of offensive cybersecurity to create a solid understanding of building better system defensives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement the Assessment and Authorization process under Risk Management Framework (RMF) for new and existing information systems
  • Review assessment reports and assist projects in identifying security risks, including technical and non-technical, and develop effective mitigation strategies, including Plan of Action and Milestones
  • Work with cloud service providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools, including Fortify Static Code Analyzer, STIGs, SCAP, ACAS, Xacta, eMASS, CSAM, Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM), or Host-Based Security System
  • Knowledge of NIST RMF and NIST SP Security and Privacy Controls, FISMA, and FEDRAMP
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience leading and implementing the Assessment and Authorization process under Risk Management Framework (RMF) for new and existing information systems
  • 3+ years of experience reviewing assessment reports and assisting projects in identifying security risks, including technical and non-technical, and developing effective mitigation strategies, including Plan of Action and Milestones
  • 3+ years of experience with security architecture evaluations, guidance development, and troubleshooting
  • 3+ years of experience working with cloud service providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools, including Fortify Static Code Analyzer, STIGs, SCAP, ACAS, Xacta, eMASS, CSAM, Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM), or Host-Based Security System
  • Knowledge of NIST RMF and NIST SP Security and Privacy Controls, FISMA, and FEDRAMP
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience identifying information protection needs for an IS and network environment
  • Experience conducting penetration testing
  • Experience working with Containers or Virtual Machines
  • Knowledge of Xacta
  • Ability to manage security applications within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Ability to develop scripts, including Python or similar languages, to test systems or automate security processes
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or Cybersecurity
  • AWS or Cloud Service Provider Certification
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification
  • IAT or IAM Level II DoD 8570 Certification, including Security+ or CASP+ Certification
Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172, annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
