Responsibilities
  • Support pharmacological services by assembling, stocking, and distributing medications, maintaining accurate records, and processing prescriptions for patients.
  • Monitor and maintain the drug inventory system, ensuring timely restocking and labeling of medications.
  • Process prescriptions electronically, verifying accuracy and completeness of patient information.
  • Generate revenues by recording, calculating, and issuing charges for medications and services.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and data entry, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Deliver medications to patients, process payments, and assist with insurance-related inquiries.
  • Assist patients with researching and applying for drug assistance programs.
  • Organize and maintain pharmacy inventory, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications to patients.
  • Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, for accurate prescription processing.
  • Repackage prescriptions as needed.
Qualifications/Competencies
  • Active SC Pharmacy Technician registration or SC State-Certified Pharmacy Technician registration.
  • Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records systems, pharmacy systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of community pharmacy daily operations, including filling, processing, and dispensing of oral medications.
  • Understanding of community-based pharmacy practices.
  • Ability to work effectively with all departments, vendors, and consultants.
