About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Member Service Representative to join our team at Navy Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, ensuring their needs are met, and exceeding their expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and Resolve Issues: You will analyze and resolve complex issues related to member accounts and loans, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Assist with Product Applications: You will assist members with submitting applications for consumer, mortgage, and equity loans, as well as credit card and overdraft protection.
  • Counsel Members on Products and Services: You will counsel current and prospective members on Navy Federal's products and services, ensuring they understand their options and make informed decisions.
  • Ensure Compliance and Security: You will ensure that all transactions and interactions are handled in accordance with federal and other regulations, maintaining the highest level of security and compliance.
  • Identify Cross-Selling Opportunities: You will identify opportunities to cross-sell products and services, increasing product penetration and driving revenue growth.
  • Perform Platform Banking Functions: You will perform moderately complex platform banking functions, including cash handling and vault management.
  • Assist with Training and Development: You will assist lower-level team members with training and development, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.

Requirements

  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact with members, colleagues, and management.
  • Knowledge of Financial Products and Services: You will have a working knowledge of savings and checking products, accounts, and services, as well as a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: You will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to Work in a Team Environment: You will be able to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Member/Customer Service: You will have experience in member/customer service, preferably in a call center, retail banking, or financial institution.
  • Experience in Credit Union Environment: You will have experience working in a credit union environment, with a strong understanding of credit union products and services.
