Equine Mental Health Therapist

Christian Childrens Home of Ohio is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team at One Heart Stables, the equine program of Encompass Christian Counseling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide equine-assisted and non-equine-assisted mental health services in individual or group settings.
  • Facilitate mental health assessments, providing accurate diagnoses.
  • Complete treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Submit all clinical documentation, notes, and paperwork according to agency standards/requirements.

Requirements:

  • Ohio license in Social Work (LSW) or Counseling (LPC) required, in addition to the education required to obtain each license.
  • 5+ years of experience working with and riding horses, including a fundamental understanding of behaviors and psyche of horses.
  • General understanding of barn management and general equine health is strongly preferred.
  • Natural Lifemanship certification strongly preferred.

This position is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and drug test, satisfactory reference checks, as well as the completion of a satisfactory Department of Justice National Sex Offender search and Ohio Alleged Perpetrator Search, as required by our licensing agency.

Candidates must be 21 or older to apply. References, background checks and drug screenings will be completed on all potential candidates. Must have valid Ohio Driver's License and maintain a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable. EOE.
