Job Title: Cancer Community InterventionistJob Summary

The University of Virginia's School of Medicine and Comprehensive Cancer Center are seeking a talented researcher to join our team as a Cancer Community Interventionist. This is a tenure-track/eligible faculty position supported under a newly announced Precision Health initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct innovative multilevel interventions to advance cancer risk reduction, early detection, and outcomes in collaboration with the Cancer Center's Community Outreach and Engagement program and community stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to address cancer disparities linked to race, ethnicity, poverty, sex, gender, and geography.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary investigator teams to design and conduct community-based research studies.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare practices, and other key stakeholders to advance precision health strategies.
Requirements
  • Terminal degree (e.g., PhD, MD, ScD) in a relevant field.
  • Proven track record of sustained peer-reviewed funded intervention research focused on cancer prevention, detection, and/or access to care.
  • Experience in implementation sciences and community-based research.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
