About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This will involve supervising a team of quality assurance technicians, managing the hold system, and conducting root cause analysis for customer complaints and internal issues.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of quality assurance technicians, including scheduling shifts, reviewing and approving timecards, and training new staff members.
  • Manage the hold system, ensuring that products are released on time and non-conforming products are properly held and labeled.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for customer complaints and internal issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain an adequate supply inventory for the department and ensure that supplies are ordered when necessary.
  • Ensure that the retain sample system and inventory of samples are accurate.
  • Coordinate customer sample requests and review analytical data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Review SOPs and documents to ensure they are accurate to operating conditions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance to environmental monitoring procedures and assist the QA manager with audit preparations.
  • Execute quality objectives as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager, ensuring adherence to company policies and programs associated with Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Work with QA staff members to prevent process or product failures and focus on continuous improvement of product quality through the development of quality plans, process controls, and quality training.

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor with a strong background in quality assurance, food safety, and regulatory compliance. A minimum of 2+ years' experience in a position of leadership, including team development and management, is required. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance principles, food science, and food safety, SPC, and statistics.
  • Knowledge of database software, inventory software, manufacturing software, spreadsheet, and word processing software, QMS system, and Adage/Assistics.
  • Ability to uphold regulatory, company, and customer standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with demonstrated multi-tasking and project management skills.
  • Ability to complete required applicable forms in English, which requires the ability to read and write in English.
  • May be required to work long hours and weekends.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Travel

May be required to travel to different plants.
