About the Role

Atrium Health is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to join our team at CMC Main in Charlotte, NC. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for our employees and visitors by ensuring our facilities are clean and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures, as well as washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures.
  • Floor Care: Sweep, scrub, and refinish floors, vacuum and shampoo carpet, and re-stock restrooms.
  • Waste Management: Collect and transport soiled linen, empty trash containers, change sharps containers, transport solid and hazardous waste to compactors, and recycle materials.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Keep equipment clean and orderly, and report equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
  • Quality and Safety: Maintain a safe working environment, provide quality service by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.
  • Training and Development: Attend all required in-service education and training classes, including safety update programs, to maintain technical knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of experience preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to prioritize assignments, operate equipment, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
Work Environment
  • Physical Demands: Performs repetitive work according to set procedures, works in contaminated, isolation, construction, and renovation areas, and occasionally works in extreme temperatures and around unpleasant smells.
  • Exposure: Exposure to individuals with various degrees of mental, physical conditions, and illnesses.
