Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient preparation for examination, office procedures, and education of patients.
  • Manage patient volume throughout the workday and provide telephone screening services to gather information from patients.
  • Conduct motivational interviews, including patient screening, coaching on disease management, and motivation to change.
  • Identify potential behavioral health needs of patients and notify providers of findings.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to improve care quality and safety.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working in an ambulatory care/medical office or equivalent
  • Completed externship program at MedStar Health may be substituted for experience in ambulatory care/medical office
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
