Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist III to join our team at Johns Hopkins Medicine. In this role, you will provide support in a lead capacity for technical and administrative activities, assisting the supervisor in coordinating call center activity and serving as a resource for staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and physicians, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with training staff and serve as a resource for complex situations, ensuring that all team members have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Coordinate complex appointment scheduling, linking consults, return visits, procedures, and ancillary services required for specialty and multiple sub-specialties with the department.
  • Maintain patient demographic and insurance pre-registration information in scheduling systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide high-quality customer service on every call, instituting ways to increase productivity and patient satisfaction.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations and patient access procedures, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
