Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Offset Press Operator to become a vital part of our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of the offset printing press, ensuring that the output meets our high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and replace press plates, blankets, and cylinders as necessary.
- Alert the Team Lead regarding any quality concerns.
- Operate the machine at optimal speeds to achieve production goals.
- Make necessary adjustments to the press to maximize efficiency.
- Communicate job progress and any production issues during shift changes to facilitate smooth transitions.
- Maintain cleanliness of ink fountains, plates, and other components as required.
- Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
- Recalibrate machinery as needed to maintain performance.
- Collaborate with the Team Lead to address any operational concerns.
- Adhere to safety protocols throughout the production process.
- Accurately document job counts, make-readies, and waste as per instructions.
- Identify defects in printed materials and implement corrective measures.
- Set up the press and uphold quality during the entire production run.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Previous experience in offset printing as a pressman is preferred.
- Ability to monitor production machinery for speed and quality.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting job specifications.
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Understanding of mechanical operations and production workflows.
- Competent in working with both digital and mechanical systems.
- Physical capability to lift up to 45 pounds intermittently and regularly move up to 10 pounds.
