Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated professional to support our logistics operations through the development and execution of process improvement strategies, capital enhancement initiatives, and maintenance projects across our distribution network. This role involves managing cross-functional engineering projects, including sourcing specifications, budget management, and performance metrics for efficiency, quality, safety, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement techniques and equipment to enhance operational efficiency within Distribution.
- Plan and develop systems that boost productivity by optimizing the integration of personnel, materials, systems, and finances.
- Propose safer and more efficient operational processes by collaborating with warehouse management and manufacturing engineering.
- Recommend modifications to work methods, materials, and safety protocols for projects of varying complexity.
- Establish and nurture relationships with equipment vendors to ensure optimal quality, cost, and service.
- Create work standards, schedules, and performance metrics to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze current operations and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
- Oversee maintenance reporting systems and other assigned outputs.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and meetings as needed.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.
- Certifications in Six Sigma and/or Lean methodologies are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of technical, process, and business principles along with industry standards.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Capability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exposure to various conditions associated with a busy production floor.
- Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods.
- Physical tasks may include bending, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Travel may be necessary.
