Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician II to join our team at Tarkett. This role will involve working in conjunction with the maintenance, production, and engineering departments to support production through effective and timely equipment downtime troubleshooting. The successful candidate will develop and implement equipment process improvements through the use of technology and automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement equipment and/or process improvements through the effective use of PLC's, servo or variable speed drives, camera technology, robotic technology, and any other resource available.
  • Assist the maintenance staff in operational debug of machine controllers, motion systems, robotics, HMI's, and all other related components in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Train lesser experienced electricians and mechanics, thus improving the overall department skills and abilities.
  • Communicate with the project team to ensure a constant level of project awareness.
  • Work closely with the controls engineer to ensure all schematics and/or back up programs of PLC's, HMI, camera systems, etc, are kept current and correct.
  • Attend technical training classes, as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Supervisor, Controls Engineer or Director of Maintenance, and pass this knowledge along to peers and/or electrical maintenance personnel.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 5 - 7 years related experience and/or technical training in PLC's, HMI's, VFD's and electrical controls; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate's Degree in electrical/electronics engineering is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be trained in and accountable for lock out / tag out policies and procedures.
