Join Our Team as a Special Needs Support Assistant

If you are eager to advance your career in child care, consider a position with Lakeville Area Schools as a Special Needs Support Assistant in our before and after school programs. In this role, you will work under the guidance of an instructor and a special education lead to provide essential support to students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist educators with various activities, including sports, arts, and crafts.
  • Prepare and clean up for projects, snacks, and activities.
  • Foster a positive educational atmosphere and advocate for student requirements.
  • Support the development of individual communication, social, and functional skills.
  • Report any concerns to the supervising instructor.
  • Assist students with mobility needs, which may involve personal care tasks, lifting, and helping with dressing or adaptive equipment.

Compensation and Schedule:

  • Hourly wage of $24.22, based on experience.
  • Morning shift from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
  • Afternoon shift from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
  • Flexibility to work before school, after school, or in an all-day program.
  • Participation in field trips on non-school days.
  • Position classified under A-1-3 LEAF Contract.
