Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our critical care team at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients with diverse needs.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and manage respiratory therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards and policies.
  • Assess patient conditions using pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, hemodynamic values, laboratory values, and correlate blood gases and electrolytes.
  • Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues and assist physicians with bedside or other procedures as applicable.
  • Clean, maintain, and ensure proper functionality of equipment, troubleshoot issues, and identify the need for service and/or repair.
Requirements
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months or active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential if obtained prior to January 1, 2023.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited respiratory care program or higher.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 lb object from knee to waist height and occasionally lift 50 lb from floor to waist height.
  • Must be able to push/pull while utilizing 30# of force occasionally for long distances.
  • Must demonstrate stand-pivot transfer from bed to chair and perform sliding transfer of 150 lbs person on a sheet across 2 feet with a second person.
  • Must utilize safe body mechanics at all times.

Estimated Salary Range: $31.10 - $46.60 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
