Medical Technologist Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Corpus Christi Medical Center. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the accuracy and precision of test results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Critically review results and report critical values to appropriate personnel
  • Perform testing correctly and timely, recognizing appropriate reference ranges and critical values
  • Review and assure corrective action is performed, documented, and appropriate
  • Develop working knowledge of all areas of the laboratory and document scheduled and unscheduled instrument maintenance
  • Troubleshoot laboratory equipment to minimize downtime
  • Refer specimens to reference labs in the proper manner
  • Evaluate new methods and procedures, following established protocol for implementation
  • Monitor stock inventories and replenish as needed
  • Provide budget input, adhere to accrediting agency guidelines, and assist customers
  • Complete test authorizations and demonstrate ability to set priorities and report results within designated time frames
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred ASCP certification
  • Preferred one year clinical experience in micro
