Emergency Services Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled Public Safety Dispatcher II to join our team at the North Texas Tollway Authority. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing critical communication and support services to emergency responders and the public.
Salary:$2,000 per month (estimated annual salary: $24,000)
About the RoleThis position plays a vital role in maintaining public safety by receiving and processing 9-1-1 emergency phone calls, non-emergency calls, and dispatching police and other units as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answering telephones, including 9-1-1 emergency calls, determining the nature of the caller's business, and dispatching police and other units or referring calls to the appropriate resources.
- Prioritizing and routing emergency calls to fire, police, and emergency medical services, handling high volumes of calls involving accidents and emergencies.
- Gathering information from callers, including location, nature, severity, and status of emergencies.
- Assisting first responders by relaying information regarding calls for service, documenting and correcting location errors in CAD, notifying appropriate entities related to problems or complaints, and entering, maintaining, updating, and researching information in local, state, and national law enforcement systems.
- Monitoring roadway activities, including radio calls, reviewing video and camera information on current conditions and accidents, posting information for electronic roadway signage and NTTA website, contacting other resources, facilitating removal of vehicles, and monitoring agency facilities.
- Providing security surveillance and access control for employees and customers to NTTA property/facilities, ensuring notifications are made on major incidents, assessing need for response, and dispatching services accordingly.
- Maintaining knowledge of automated law enforcement systems, performing routine clerical work, and assisting with tours, reporting equipment malfunctions, and assisting other employees.
