Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Specialist to join our team at Apple. As an Equipment Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving tool improvements and increasing equipment availability. You will work closely with a world-class team to advance groundbreaking technology with the Hardware Technology Team.
Key Responsibilities
As an Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for:
• Performing equipment upgrades to increase tool reliability and throughput.
• Analyzing and improving periodic maintenance programs using key tool failure metrics like MTBF and MTTR.
• Developing and improving current periodic maintenance documentation.
• Collaborating with vendors, engineers, and technicians to identify critical spare parts and implement programs to keep inventories at optimal levels.
• Working with EH&S staff to identify safety issues with Tooling and Labs and implementing corrective action.
• Providing key input during the tool selection process by providing an equipment maintenance perspective.
• Applying previous experience to negotiate spare parts and field service contracts with Vendors.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a similar role.
• Experience maintaining, repairing, and upgrading PVD, CVD, Evaporation, and Plasma Etch systems.
• Experience with Vacuum Technology, including Cryogenic, Turbomolecular, Rotary Vane, and Screw Pumps, with a solid understanding of Ion, Convectron, and Capacitance Vacuum measurement gauges.
Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with:
• A BSEE or BSME with proven experience.
• Knowledge of key vacuum diagnostic systems, such as Residual Gas Analyzers and Helium Leak Detectors.
• A clear understanding of facilities requirements for individual tooling, such as Power, Exhaust, Gas, PCW, CDA, and seismic tie downs.
• The ability to collaborate with tool owners on critically important tools to optimize vacuum, electrical, and software reliability.
• Experience with industrial standards and practices in appropriate technologies.
• Work experience with high-volume manufacturing, preferably in a similar role.
