Job Overview
">Provide exceptional care to patients in our Behavioral Health Emergency Department.

The Patient Safety and Comfort Specialist plays a vital role in promoting the safety, health, and comfort of patients, families, and staff in our Behavioral Health Emergency Department. This dynamic individual will work closely with our team to provide high-quality care to patients with complex medical and behavioral needs.

About the Role
">Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dietary needs, and escorting patients off the unit. Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dietary needs, and escorting patients off the unit. Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient. Provide emotional support and de-escalation techniques to patients experiencing agitation or aggression. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by ensuring department standards are met. Support visitation guidelines and policies established by the department and hospital. Obtain vital signs and weights as delegated by the Registered Nurse. Participate in post-restraint huddles and daily safety checks to ensure a secure environment for all.

Requirements
">High School Diploma or GED required, with a minimum of one year experience in pediatric emergency or psychiatric/behavioral health. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and staff. Demonstrate knowledge of age-related differences and needs of patients in specific populations from neonates through adolescents. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. BLS CPR for Healthcare Provider certification required upon hire and maintained current at all times. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CNI) certification required within three months of hire and maintained current at all times.
