Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Herndon Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis: Track and analyze contract funding levels and operating plan variances to identify areas for improvement.
  • Estimate at Completion (EAC) Analysis: Assist with EAC variance explanations, identifying direct rate impacts, phasing level of efforts, and determining over/under plan and contract cost.
  • Project Controls: Coordinate plan and review EACs with the Finance Manager to ensure projects are within funding and/or contract value.
  • Financial Reporting: Utilize Costpoint to set up project strings, assign project codes to workforce, and validate data exports from the accounting system.
  • Financial Corrections: Ensure financial corrections are completed in a timely manner and determine the root cause to prevent errors.
  • Cost Proposal Support: Provide support in cost proposals and contract modifications, including review and development of rates in unique scenarios.
  • Accounting Support: Collaborate with the Accounting Department to support invoicing, month-end close, accounts receivables, and accounts payables.
  • Financial Status Reporting: Communicate project financial status and detailed variances to internal project managers.
Requirements
  • Strong Financial Acumen: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and work quality.
  • Financial Reporting Experience: Proven experience in financial reporting, including data compilation and quality control.
  • Project Controls Experience: Experience in project controls, including EAC analysis and financial reporting.
  • Costpoint Experience: Familiarity with Costpoint and ability to utilize it for financial reporting and project controls.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
