Position Overview:
Insurance Field Inspector - Independent Contractor

As a Commercial Independent Contractor specializing in Insurance Loss Control, you will play a crucial role in assessing properties for risk evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:
Your duties will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of properties, including their physical characteristics, exterior dimensions, overall condition, and any potential hazards.
  • Providing detailed reports that summarize observable risks and recommendations for our client companies.
  • Acting as the primary source of information for insurance underwriters who rely on your insights to evaluate risk eligibility.

Work Schedule:
As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to set your own hours and organize your work schedule to meet client needs.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

  • A proactive and energetic approach to completing a high volume of inspections.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A self-disciplined and organized mindset, capable of managing a demanding workload.
  • While not mandatory, certifications such as VIITA or experience in construction, plumbing, electrical work, life safety, or property management are advantageous.

Technical Requirements:
Essential tools and technology include:

  • A PC running Microsoft Windows 10.
  • Access to Google Chrome or Edge, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader for document management.
  • A reliable broadband internet connection.
  • A digital camera or smartphone that can connect to your PC.
  • A color inkjet or laser printer.
  • Reliable transportation with valid insurance and a driver's license.
  • Basic tools such as a measuring wheel, monopod, and clipboard.
