We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) to support our US Commercial organization. This role will involve engaging with business partners in the service area and other portions of the US Commercial team. The SFA will provide accurate forecasts, value-added reporting, and key business metric tracking to support commercial leadership in growing our business and market position in service.

The Responsibilities
  • Partner with leadership across various functional areas to plan and execute all aspects of the service business, including parts usage, service revenue, costs, and gross profit.
  • Ensure accurate month-end and quarter-end close responsibilities, including revenue recognition journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Report actual results and analyze variances versus budget and plan.
  • Assist in deal evaluation and support business partners in evaluating new RFPs to ensure future profitability.
  • Manage financial process improvements and ensure compliance with QuidelOrtho Policies & Procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Support global commercial and global service organizations with monthly close, forecasting, accounting, and other assignments.
  • Lead subject matter expert on all aspects of the QuidelOrtho US Service, including parts usage, service revenue, costs, and gross profit.
  • Support the service business in financial planning, including Annual Operating Plan (AOP) creation and forecast updates.
  • Provide financial analysis, including monthly and quarterly variance analysis versus AOP and latest forecast, close week reviews, P&L commentary, and monthly latest thinking forecasts for the upcoming months/quarter.
  • Address any follow-ups and incorporate findings into plans.
  • Support service-related accounting, including warranty reserves, accruals, prepaids, labor capitalization, reclasses, and other financial or management-related adjustments.
  • Joint Business planning and analysis with respect to the CL and TM businesses, partnering with the Joint Business team.
  • Ad-hoc projects as assigned, including updating procedures/processes, improvement activities, etc.
The Individual
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with a minimum of 3 years of accounting or finance experience.
  • A CPA, CMA, or other financial certification is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, including Pivot Tables, Formulas, and VLOOKUP functions. Experience with SAP and OneStream is preferred.
  • Understanding of US GAAP and cost accounting principles is required.
  • Ability to partner with associates at all levels of the organization is essential.
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills are required.
  • Highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and leadership skills is preferred.
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic environment, think creatively, and recommend and implement process improvements is required.

  • Internal Partners: Commercial Finance Senior Director, Commercial Finance Director, Financial Analyst team (peer group), NA and US Service leaders (key business partners), Corporate FP&A, General Accounting, etc.

Work Environment

Typical office environment with minimal travel required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work.

Physical Demands

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials (up to 10 lbs.) is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $79,000 to $110,000. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays.
