Job Summary:

As a key member of the Sonography Department at Catholic Health Initiatives, the Sonography Department Support Specialist provides essential clerical and technical support to ensure the smooth operation of our diagnostic imaging services. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of patient care and safety that our organization is known for.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine the best course of action for each procedure

• Obtain and document pertinent medical history from patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records

• Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care

• Perform sonographic procedures on patients of all ages, adhering to department protocols and guidelines

• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and equipment, adhering to infection control and safety standards

Requirements:

• High school graduate with a minimum of 12 months education in a JRCERT accredited School of Diagnostic Sonography

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to use complex imaging equipment and computers, with a strong understanding of technical factors and procedures

• Physical stamina to perform duties that involve standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds
