Key Responsibilities:
1. Accurately dispense unit doses, specialty medications, injectables, IV solutions, enteral products, and related supplies in compliance with state and federal regulations as well as company policies.
2. Prepare medications by compounding appropriate components in a sterile environment.
3. Process, package, and ship pharmacy orders, ensuring that all necessary drugs, supplies, and educational materials are included.
4. Manage drug and supply inventory, ensuring proper storage and refrigeration of perishable items, while monitoring and calibrating pharmacy equipment.
5. Review and assess medication orders for appropriateness and completeness, considering the unique needs of various patient age groups.
6. Verify prescriptions that are not directly received from the prescriber or their agent.
7. Oversee the safety and effectiveness of pharmaceutical care provided to patients, particularly regarding specialty products.
8. Conduct patient assessments at the start of drug therapy, develop care plans, and monitor patients throughout their treatment.
9. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members to ensure clinical objectives are met.
10. When necessary, compound intravenous and specialty medications in accordance with established sterile guidelines and company policies.
11. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including FDA, DEA, and OSHA regulations.
12. Provide indirect supervision of pharmacy technicians and support staff, verifying all prescription orders during creation and dispensing.
13. Interpret provider prescriptions and manage order processing through the computer system, ensuring reimbursement eligibility.
14. Engage with patients to confirm data, resolve claims issues, and provide medication consultations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
  • Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Florida.
  • Strong knowledge of drug products and clinical pharmacy.
  • Familiarity with various infusion therapies and the ability to navigate complex therapy-related orders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to accurately fill medication orders in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including 8-hour shifts and rotating weekends.
  • Permanent residence within a reasonable commuting distance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Nutritionally Certified.
  • Experience in Home Care or Home Infusion.
  • Experience in sterile compounding.
  • Familiarity with CPR+ software.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk within an office/pharmacy environment.
