Position Overview:
Compensation starting at $39.50+


The Infusion Nurse II is a licensed registered nurse responsible for coordinating and delivering intermediate patient care in home settings or alternate infusion suites, ensuring patient safety and adherence to physician-directed care plans.

This role operates under the structured guidance of a designated supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements comprehensive nursing care plans, assessing patient progress towards established goals. Engages in direct patient care, administering treatments, medications, and providing education to patients and their families. Adjusts treatment plans as necessary based on patient condition or physician directives.
  • Evaluates patient needs and physical condition during each visit through health data review and patient interviews. Reassesses patient needs based on therapy responses and physician orders, promptly communicating significant changes in patient status to the physician.
  • Offers guidance and mentorship to Infusion Nurse I's to ensure compliance and patient safety.
  • Utilizes a patient-centered approach to effectively educate patients and families, promoting independence in managing prescribed therapies.
  • Maintains clear and timely communication with Option Care's clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families to ensure continuity of care. Completes clinical documentation during visits and submits it to the nursing department in accordance with billing timelines.
  • Coordinates discharge planning and prepares comprehensive discharge summaries with patient instructions, effectively communicating care needs and progress during transitions.
  • Adheres to agency operations, Option Care's policies, professional standards, and applicable regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Enhances work efficiency through the use of technology to validate treatment orders and document care provided.
  • Responds promptly to patient inquiries and initiates emergency protocols as needed.
  • Upholds accountability for professional practice through ethical conduct, aligning with Option Care's mission and values.
  • Safeguards patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
  • Informs patients about Option Care's services and their financial responsibilities related to care.
  • Participates in ongoing training and education to maintain professional licensure and competency in patient care management.
  • Engages in multidisciplinary team meetings and provides training and mentoring to new nurses.
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.


Qualifications:
  • Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated competency in patient care standards and infusion skills.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for business travel.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with nursing technology tools.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with a maximum lifting capacity of 75 pounds.
  • Physical activities may include walking, standing, crouching, and lifting.
  • Potential exposure to infectious materials and hazardous substances.
  • Compliance with safety requirements, including appropriate personal protective equipment.


Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel up to 50% for business purposes.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • 1-2 years of prior experience in infusion nursing.
