Key Responsibilities:
- As a Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will be an integral part of the management team, taking on limited supervisory responsibilities. Each Senior Technologist will specialize in a designated area, becoming a subject matter expert (SME) and supporting the management team, including the Laboratory Director, Technical Director, Laboratory Manager, and Supervisor, in ensuring the area provides accurate, reliable, and timely testing services.
- Play a crucial role in the patient care continuum through moderate and high-complexity testing.
- Evaluate, interpret, and communicate testing outcomes.
- Identify when corrective measures are necessary and implement effective solutions.
- Operate in a dynamic laboratory setting with biological and chemical hazards.
- Advocate for safety, compliance, and quality assurance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related scientific field from an accredited institution.
- Current active certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a medical laboratory scientist (MLS), previously known as MT/CLS, or certification from the American Medical Technologist as Medical Laboratory Technician or MLT (AMT).
- A minimum of four (4) years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or commercial laboratory environment is essential.
- Proficient computer skills (Word and Excel) and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
- Specialized experience in microbiology and blood banking is preferred for Senior Technologists assigned to these areas.
- For hospital environments, additional requirements may apply and can change without notice, including, but not limited to, criminal background checks, health clearances, and compliance training.
- Successful completion of the company’s Pre-Employment drug screening and ongoing random testing thereafter.
- Valid and current State of Hawaii license as a Technologist.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of laboratory training or experience in performing high-complexity testing within the area of expertise.
