About This Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager to lead our Big Tex Trailers store in achieving exceptional sales and service results. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the store operation, including safety, sales, service, parts, operations, inventory, rentals, employment issues, and marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Store Operations: Ensure the store is opened and closed each business day to ensure proper security and customer service.
- Sales Leadership: Coach and lead sales employees to meet or exceed sales and margin goals.
- Parts and Service Management: Manage the parts and service department, including the warranty process, to ensure sales goals are met or exceeded, productivity is high, and customers have a positive experience.
- Store Standards: Ensure all store standards are consistently met, including safety, cleanliness, security, customer service, cash handling, banking, regulatory compliance, etc.
- Inventory Management: Ensure products are ordered in a timely and efficient manner, properly received, stocked, and priced when they come in, including assembly of trailers.
- Customer Service: Assist customers in making the best trailer choice based on their needs.
- Leadership: Use your management and leadership skills to develop staff and grow dealership revenue.
- Visibility: Be a visible leader in the dealership, interfacing with customers and employees.
- Inventory Forecasting: Forecast, manage, and maintain existing inventory and incoming products.
- Display Coordination: Coordinate the display of all trailers and parts at the dealership.
- Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
- Continuity: Maintain overall continuity of the Sales and Service Department.
- Office Administration: Oversee the Office Administrator in all aspects of clerical duties.
- Cash Handling: Adhere to all policies and procedures referring to cash handling and bank deposits.
- Sales Initiatives: Attend Trade Shows, Sale Barns, Co-ops, Veterinarians, Farm Expos, Tractor Pulls, etc., to drive overall sales initiatives of the dealership.
- Work Schedule: Work a week that includes Monday through Saturday (excepting company holidays), ensuring the store is properly staffed at all times.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience: Prior management and sales experience
- License: Valid Driver's License
- Preferred Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree, 3-5 years of management experience in a retail or sales environment, and 3-5 years of sales experience
Other Skills and Abilities
Drive Store Revenue: Lead and manage the store team in meeting and exceeding personal and team revenue and margin goals, including total revenue, trailer sales, service revenue, parts revenue, and ancillary revenue.
Customer Service: Foster an environment of accountability for customer service, actively leading the store team by personally demonstrating customer focus, owning problem resolution, and building customer brand loyalty through exemplary service with a smile.
Control Expenses: Follow company directives, policies, and procedures for inventory control, supply purchasing, labor, and other controllable expenses.
Human Resources: Ensure the store is fully staffed with qualified employees, drive timely completion of required training by all employees, and follow Human Resources policies and procedures to provide a healthy work environment.
Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and secure store environment for all employees, customers, and visitors, ensuring all safety equipment is properly maintained and used, and properly training all employees on safety policies and practices and enforcing compliance.
