About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Defined Benefit Operations Specialist to join our team at Transamerica. As a key member of our Defined Benefit Operations team, you will play a critical role in facilitating various processes, including payment processing, death processing, payment verifications, beneficiary forms, data analysis, data entry, and email review.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process DB benefit payments using in-depth knowledge of ERISA, taxation, accounting, and operational processes.
  • Execute changes to DB payments, contact information, taxes, EFT detail, beneficiaries, etc. per participant or client request.
  • Review payment-related forms to determine if in good order, and process based on knowledge of applicable rules and regulations.
  • Provide technical assistance to internal partners, including Client Consultants, Call Center Team, and the Project Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or finance field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong math and statistical skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency using MS Word, Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial, insurance, or retirement industry.
  • Defined benefit pension knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of computer programming.
