Job Title: Assistant Director of Housekeeping

Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center is seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Director of Housekeeping to join our team. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and quality in our guest rooms and public areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, including labor management, inventory control, and quality assurance.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and excellent communication among staff.
  • Ensure that all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, meeting the expectations of our guests.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of inventory, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are available and in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Engineering and Guest Services, to ensure seamless operations and excellent guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement training programs for housekeeping staff, ensuring that all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure that they meet our high standards of cleanliness and quality.
  • Identify and address any issues or concerns that may impact guest satisfaction or departmental performance.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive quality assurance program, ensuring that all aspects of housekeeping operations meet our high standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our housekeeping operations and guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Three to five years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a large, fast-paced hotel environment.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including policies and procedures, and to apply mathematical concepts as needed.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests and hotel employees, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to push, stand, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds repetitively during the entire shift.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights, as needed.
