STS Technical Services is seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team in LaPorte, Texas. As a Trailer Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine, diagnostic, and repair inspections on trailers to ensure a safe and efficient fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify any damage or potential issues, and notify your supervisor of any potentially hazardous equipment.
- Perform repairs and maintenance: Perform routine servicing and maintenance on trailers, including repairs to air brake systems, suspension, landing gear, foundation brakes, electrical systems, coupler systems, decking, and understructure.
- Weld repairs: Perform welding repairs in various positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
- Test drive equipment: Perform test drives to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Provide assistance: Provide assistance to other mechanics as needed.
- Comply with company policies: Comply with all established industry safety norms and quality control measures while conducting work processes.
- Document repairs: Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
- TWIC card: Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Forklift operator certification: Forklift operator certification is preferred.
