Position Overview

Are you dedicated to designing and executing effective vocational rehabilitation strategies for our members?

Our National Rehabilitation Division is on the lookout for an Employment Rehabilitation Consultant to provide vocational rehabilitation services to eligible individuals.

In this role, you will assist our members in their journey back to employment by formulating collaborative return-to-work plans in partnership with them, our stakeholders, and service providers. Your daily responsibilities will encompass engaging with members and stakeholders, liaising with service providers to ensure a seamless transition back to work, managing budgets, planning and implementing return-to-work initiatives, and potentially mediating and negotiating with involved parties. This position requires exceptional multitasking abilities, adaptability, and prioritization skills to handle competing demands within tight timelines.

Special Conditions: This position is home-based with regional travel obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating, overseeing, and executing innovative vocational rehabilitation plans for members receiving disability benefits.
  • Facilitating the reintegration of ill and injured members back into the workforce.
  • Working collaboratively with members and stakeholders to devise effective return-to-work solutions.
  • Managing budgets efficiently.
  • Ensuring clear communication among members, policyholders, and healthcare professionals.
  • Providing essential support to our members.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in a relevant field; preference for candidates with a background in Health Sciences, particularly in Psychology, Counseling, or Nursing.
  • Relevant accreditation is a plus.
  • Experience in vocational rehabilitation or active rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Rehabilitation Industry Standards, Disability Insurance, medical terminology, and best practices in Disability and Rehabilitation management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Comfort in presenting to larger audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in professional budget management.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel purposes.
  • Prior military experience or knowledge is advantageous.
