Compensation: $38/hour. Employee benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), a 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave, subject to work location.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conducts evaluations of new or modified hematology analyzers with minimal supervision, ensuring adherence to testing protocols and documentation standards.
- Performs system verification testing, including customer workflows, Quality Control, Calibration, and analysis of whole blood samples.
- Validates that products meet established requirements and specifications.
- Assists in diagnosing product performance challenges by collaborating with Software, Engineering, and addressing specific customer application concerns.
- Utilizes statistical methods to analyze data, interpret technical information, and document issues promptly.
- Develops procedures and reports, ensuring accurate documentation of test execution and results in line with departmental guidelines.
- Creates presentations and engages in design review sessions.
- Adheres to all safety protocols and policies within the laboratory environment.
Qualifications and Technical Expertise:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or a Master of Science (M.S.) degree with at least 3 years of experience.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP/AMT preferred).
- Familiarity with general laboratory workflows.
- Experience in hematology, including CBC, 5 Part Differential, flagging, and result review.
- Capability to execute and assess decision rules with reflex and rerun test orders.
- Proficient in LIS test order processing, review, and result release.
- Understanding of basic laboratory statistics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word); familiarity with data analysis software such as JMP is advantageous.
- Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills, along with excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Prior experience with client DxH Hematology instrumentation.
- Experience with Remisol middleware and LIS setup and troubleshooting.
