Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conducts evaluations of new or modified hematology analyzers with minimal supervision, ensuring adherence to testing protocols and documentation standards.
  • Performs system verification testing, including customer workflows, Quality Control, Calibration, and analysis of whole blood samples.
  • Validates that products meet established requirements and specifications.
  • Assists in diagnosing product performance challenges by collaborating with Software, Engineering, and addressing specific customer application concerns.
  • Utilizes statistical methods to analyze data, interpret technical information, and document issues promptly.
  • Develops procedures and reports, ensuring accurate documentation of test execution and results in line with departmental guidelines.
  • Creates presentations and engages in design review sessions.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and policies within the laboratory environment.

Qualifications and Technical Expertise:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or a Master of Science (M.S.) degree with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP/AMT preferred).
  • Familiarity with general laboratory workflows.
  • Experience in hematology, including CBC, 5 Part Differential, flagging, and result review.
  • Capability to execute and assess decision rules with reflex and rerun test orders.
  • Proficient in LIS test order processing, review, and result release.
  • Understanding of basic laboratory statistics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word); familiarity with data analysis software such as JMP is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills, along with excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Prior experience with client DxH Hematology instrumentation.
  • Experience with Remisol middleware and LIS setup and troubleshooting.
