About the Role

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Memorial Healthcare System. As a Clinical Laboratory Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, while providing exceptional patient care and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Perform laboratory tests and procedures:** Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, and microbiology.
  • **Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments:** Ensure that laboratory equipment and instruments are properly calibrated, maintained, and operated in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and regulatory requirements.
  • **Develop and implement quality control procedures:** Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
  • **Collaborate with healthcare team:** Work closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other laboratory personnel, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • **Maintain accurate records and reports:** Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory test results, quality control data, and other relevant information.

Requirements:

  • **Education and Certification:** Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field, and certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT).
  • **Experience:** At least 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with a strong background in laboratory testing and procedures.
  • **Skills and Abilities:** Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
