Role Summary:

The Lead Corporate Financial Accountant will concentrate on critical areas including revenue management, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and analytical assessments. This team is tasked with comprehending the outputs from the Company's diverse billing systems to accurately report both actual and projected revenue. The Lead Accountant will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager and is expected to be a proactive learner, particularly in complex and judgmental scenarios.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an independent contributor within the core accounting team, ensuring an accurate, timely, and predictable closing process.
  • Engage in independent analysis and critical thinking regarding complex and judgmental issues.
  • Collaborate with existing third-party resources to facilitate in-house closing processes.
  • Partner with senior leadership, including the Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller, to implement and uphold internal controls over financial reporting, aiming to establish a SOX-compliant accounting department.
  • Execute necessary controls, including account reconciliations, and assist with inquiries from external auditors.
  • Proactively communicate potential risks, opportunities, challenges, and regular updates on progress to management within the accounting group.
  • Participate actively in ongoing company-wide initiatives and process improvement projects, evaluating their impact on the accounting organization and contributing to the team's involvement.
  • Utilize best practices to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the accounting function.
  • Support the strategic financial and operational goals of the organization.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; CPA designation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in daily accounting operations, which may include a combination of corporate accounting and experience in a national public accounting firm.
  • Experience with SOX compliance is essential.
  • A solid understanding of US GAAP is required.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.

Work Environment:

  • This position offers a flexible remote/hybrid work arrangement for candidates who can travel as needed.
