Job Summary:
The CT Imaging Specialist is responsible for ensuring patient safety and delivering high-quality CT studies at Akumin. This role requires effective communication with customers, including radiologists, and involves training new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure patient safety by pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections, and using aseptic injection techniques.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Communicate effectively with customers and/or radiologists.
- Train new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
- Troubleshoot scanners, coaches, and peripheral equipment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.
- State license.
- CPR certification.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Physical Requirements:
The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport if working on a mobile unit. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
- More than 50% of the time: Sit, stand, walk. Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs. See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.
- Less than 50% of the time: Stoop, kneel, or crawl. Climb and balance. Carry and lift non-ambulatory patients for transfer or exam.
