Compensation Accountant

About the Role:
The Payroll Accountant plays a crucial role in managing the payroll operations of the organization, ensuring that all compensation is processed accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations. This position is integral to maintaining the financial integrity of the organization and supports the overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to oversee payroll processing systems, ensuring timely and precise execution of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, and deductions.
- Facilitate the processing of payroll updates for new hires, terminations, and pay rate adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports related to payroll transactions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and best practices.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and records.
- Identify opportunities for enhancements in payroll software and processes.
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts with the general ledger.
- Prepare and post journal entries into the general ledger.
- Exhibit regular and punctual attendance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate information and resolve work-related issues.

- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Experience with Windows-based accounting applications.
- Competence in using personal computers and software for job-related tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Attention to detail and commitment to ethical behavior.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and demonstrate professionalism.
- Capacity to obtain and maintain necessary security credentials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant payroll experience.
