Job Title: ELLI Preschool Educator

The Early Language and Literacy Initiative (ELLI) is a comprehensive approach to early childhood education that aims to close the early learning achievement gap by integrating language and literacy into STEAM content. As an ELLI Preschool Educator, you will provide high-quality, play-based learning experiences for children from birth to age 5, while maintaining frequent contact with parents and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily classroom operations, ensuring compliance with NAEYC, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Lead planning and implementation of ELLI-aligned immersive learning experiences, following structured curriculum and embracing children's capabilities.
  • Supervise classroom staff, support their professional growth, and model effective strategies.
  • Ensure the health and safety of children under your active supervision at all times.
  • Engage families in their children's learning outcomes through conferences, workshops, parent events, and daily interactions.

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or higher in early childhood education or a related field with at least twelve credits in child development or early childhood education.
  • Minimum one year of professional childcare experience.
  • Working knowledge of Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards or comparable standards framework.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and proven ability to learn new systems and software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
