Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Stepping Stones Museum for Children. As an ELLI Preschool Educator, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive, play-based learning experiences for children from birth to age 5.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Management: Manage daily operations of the classroom, including staff and children, in compliance with NAEYC, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Lead planning and daily implementation of ELLI-aligned immersive learning experiences, following structured curriculum and embracing children's capabilities.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise classroom staff, support their professional growth by sharing materials and information, and model effective strategies.
  • Child Safety and Well-being: Ensure the health and safety of children under their active supervision at all times.
  • Family Engagement: Engage families in their children's learning outcomes by welcoming and connecting through conferences, workshops, parent events, and daily interactions.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree or higher in early childhood education or a four-year degree in a related field with at least twelve credits in child development or early childhood education.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of professional childcare experience.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards, or comparable standards framework; computer skills including Microsoft Office; proven ability to learn new systems and software; strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
