Job Summary

The University of Arizona seeks a highly qualified Division Chief of Rheumatology to provide strategic leadership and direction for the Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of national distinction in teaching, clinical care, and research discovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Division of Rheumatology.
  • Recruit and retain division faculty.
  • Oversee academic, research, and clinical programs.
  • Have financial authority over the division's budget.
  • Collaborate with other leaders across the College of Medicine - Phoenix and University of Arizona Health Sciences.
Requirements
  • Hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Be board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Arizona.
  • Have greater than 5 years of progressively complex administrative experience in an academic medical center setting.
  • Demonstrated track record of national distinction in teaching, clinical care, and research discovery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional health profession degree (e.g., PhD, MPH, MS, etc.).
  • Experience in directing a research program in autoimmunity.
  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership in a major subspecialty division/section at an academic department of internal medicine.
