Job Summary:

The Positive Behavior Support Technician will provide training, assistance, and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and significant behavioral challenges. This role requires the ability to work with individuals who display aggression toward staff and other program participants, and to implement plans and training throughout crises and respond to behaviors utilizing positive behavior supports.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized plans.
  • Facilitate consistent implementation of the Behavior Support Plan (BSP) and Individual Specific Training (IST).
  • Respond to emergency situations as trained, utilizing all aspects of the Mandt Training.
  • Implement relational Mandt training to ensure a positive, engaged, and therapeutic environment.
  • Assist individuals in exploring interests and hobbies, and engaging in preferred activities.
  • Provide transportation to individuals for daily activities.
  • Serve as a mentor and provide coaching and encouragement to individuals.
  • Teach daily living skills to increase independence and socialization.
  • Advocate for the needs and interests of individuals.
  • Complete required documentation, including daily support notes and charting.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled meetings and trainings.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral needs.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Experience providing care and support to individuals.
  • Previous experience working with clients with high behaviors.
