We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal care of our patients. Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
- Review patient electronic medical records to ensure accurate and comprehensive care.
- Administer aerosolized medications and draw and analyze Arterial Blood Gases.
- Consult with physicians to develop effective treatment plans and communicate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care.
- Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy and provide emergency care as needed.
- Inspect, test, clean, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment according to department policy.
- Provide clinical guidance and education to new staff, students, and other healthcare personnel.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance programs and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current techniques and developments in respiratory care.
- Associate of Science in Respiratory Care
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current Massachusetts State Respiratory Care License
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required within 3 months of employment)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (required within 3 months of employment)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (required within 3 months of employment)
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
- Bachelor of Science or higher
- Specialty credential issued by the NBRC (ACCS, SDS, NPS, or RPFT)
- AE-C Certification
