Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A Master's Degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is mandatory.
Graduates must possess a Master's Degree (MSW).
Work Experience:
A minimum of two years of professional social work experience in healthcare, hospital, or community health settings, providing clinical and counseling services, is required.
Licensure/Certification:
LCSW is required if mandated by regulations. Otherwise, LCSW or eligibility for licensure (LCSW-A) is preferred.
Completion of NC state-approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility-specific) within three months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units is required.
Essential Skills:
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to successfully complete both generic and department-specific skills validation and competency assessments. Knowledge of chronic disease issues, community resources, and departmental processes is essential.
Key Competencies:
Exceptional capability in managing a diverse and complex workload, along with a solid understanding of physical and psychosocial assessment parameters.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and critical thinking abilities; and the capacity to network and access appropriate resources are crucial.
