Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Program Manager to oversee internal development, capital, and contract initiatives within our Advanced Network Solutions (ANS) division. This role will focus on pioneering technologies, including 5G, free space optics, and software-defined networking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead program execution by managing schedules, financial reporting, and contract deliverables while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Collaborate with business area management to evaluate market opportunities and ensure alignment with program capabilities.
  • Facilitate go/no-go decisions for new projects and products.
  • Demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to project management, guiding engineering teams while also engaging in detailed problem-solving.
  • Enhance customer experience within the Viasat Government Segment through performance measurement and improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the primary liaison for customers, representing the program team and Viasat.
  • Work cross-functionally to align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes for communication and networking services.
  • Analyze program metrics to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.
  • Represent Viasat at industry events, fostering relationships and staying informed on market trends.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 7 years in project or program management with a proven track record in leading complex technical projects.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of making informed decisions under pressure.
  • Experience in developing network technologies and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to manage geographically diverse teams effectively.
  • Proven experience in leading proposal efforts and engaging in business development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Profit/Loss concepts and risk management practices.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Experience with government systems and service acquisition.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems.
  • Project Management Professional Certification.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is between $129,000 and $224,300 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Viasat offers a comprehensive benefits package focused on employee health and wellness.
