Job Description

  • Prepare and secure materials for lifting, transporting, and positioning on vessels and throughout the yard.
  • Guide crane operators and forklift drivers in the movement of materials through effective communication techniques.
  • Identify, load, and unload materials on and off vessels and within the yard.
  • Inspect and set up rigging equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Utilize a variety of rigging tools and equipment to maintain safe and efficient operations.

Qualification Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a shipyard or related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Strong knowledge of rigging equipment and testing methodologies.
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials for operations related to ships and the yard.
  • Collaborate with operators to ensure effective material handling.
  • Conduct testing and installation of rigging equipment as required.
  • Organize and maintain tools and equipment necessary for job functions.
  • Operate various rigging devices including winches, hoists, and pulleys.

Required Equipment

Essential tools include wire rope, slings, cables, pulleys, winches, blocks, braces, testing apparatus, and personal protective equipment.
