Job Description
- Handle materials for lifting, relocating, and positioning on vessels and throughout the yard.
- Guide crane operators and forklift drivers on material handling through various communication techniques.
- Identify, load, and unload materials on/off vessels and in/out of the yard.
- Assess and install rigging gear for optimal functionality.
- Utilize a range of rigging tools and equipment to guarantee safe and efficient operations.
Qualification Requirements
- A minimum of five years of experience in a shipyard or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Expertise in rigging tools and testing methods.
- Capability to work at heights and in confined areas safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage rigging tasks for ship and yard activities.
- Collaborate with operators to ensure effective material handling.
- Evaluate and set up rigging equipment as required.
- Organize and maintain tools and equipment for operational tasks.
- Operate winches, hoists, pulleys, cables, and other rigging apparatus.
Required Equipment
Wire rope, slings, cables, pulleys, winches, blocks, braces, testing apparatus, and safety gear.
