Job Title: Shipyard Rigger

Job Description

  • Handle materials for lifting, relocating, and positioning on vessels and throughout the yard.
  • Guide crane operators and forklift drivers on material handling through various communication techniques.
  • Identify, load, and unload materials on/off vessels and in/out of the yard.
  • Assess and install rigging gear for optimal functionality.
  • Utilize a range of rigging tools and equipment to guarantee safe and efficient operations.

Qualification Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a shipyard or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Expertise in rigging tools and testing methods.
  • Capability to work at heights and in confined areas safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage rigging tasks for ship and yard activities.
  • Collaborate with operators to ensure effective material handling.
  • Evaluate and set up rigging equipment as required.
  • Organize and maintain tools and equipment for operational tasks.
  • Operate winches, hoists, pulleys, cables, and other rigging apparatus.

Required Equipment

Wire rope, slings, cables, pulleys, winches, blocks, braces, testing apparatus, and safety gear.
