Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rocket Propulsion Systems Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. This role will involve designing, developing, and testing turbomachinery for rocket engines, ensuring safe and repeatable spaceflight.

About the Role
  • Design and develop turbomachinery components such as impellers, turbines, and housings using FEA and classical methods.
  • Conduct detailed structural analyses to ensure components meet program requirements for various spaceflight systems.
  • Collaborate with the team to solve challenging structural problems and deliver high-quality results.
Responsibilities
  1. Develop turbomachinery designs that meet or exceed program requirements.
  2. Conduct fatigue and fracture calculations to ensure components survive harsh environments.
  3. Write detailed reports to substantiate structural analysis results.
  4. Work effectively in teams to achieve project goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in structural analysis using commercial FEA tools.
  • Experience with structural analysis of pressurized or rotating components.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical/Workbench.
  • Experience with modal analysis, fracture mechanics, or creep.
  • Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (Python/MATLAB).
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $89,820.00-$125,748.00 per year, depending on experience.
